Good times, folks. Last night was some of the best fun I have had in ages! A few months ago, when we found out that Aunt B’s play was going to be performed in Boston, there was some ridiculous talk that she might not go due to certain fiscal limitations. Ha! No way was anybody gonna let this opportunity pass her by, especially not the badass blogging community who love her so. Mack came up with the ingenious idea to do a party to raise some bones for B to get to the Big B. Like it was some kind of vision from God, from the beginning he knew this shindig would occur at The Lipstick Lounge. Yea, verily I say unto you, It Was. And God saw that It Was Good.
I just wanna say that Nashville has got not only the coolest bloggers on the face of the earth, but also the coolest bar. I have known about The Lipstick Lounge for years, because my former choir director’s sisters, Ronda & Jonda, are the owners. I had never made it over the river to check it out until last night. I will most definitely be back! I am not exaggerating when I say that I have never dealt with a more friendly and accommodating group of people than these fine folks at The Lipstick. Christa graciously let us have the run of the place for the first half hour they were open, Jason came an hour early so our early-birds could squeeze in some Karaoke before they cut out for the night, the bartender gave me 3 cherries with every drink I ordered, and the most awesome cocktail waitress ever remembered my name after the very first drink! I can’t tell you how lame I feel right now for not remembering their names! Anyway, if you want to go hang out in the coolest atmosphere where everybody is welcome, check it out. I give it a 5 out of 5 stars.
Everybody added their own brand of special to the evening that made the entire experience so awesome for me, to the point that my heart was just so full by the end of the night — full of love and appreciation –and no, it wasn’t the vodka giving me that “feeling.”
Upon arrival, I was immediately greeted by one really hot Mexican dude holding a coffee can. No, it wasn’t Juan Valdez, it was my Padre appropriately collecting tithes & offerings to send our Aunt B to Beantown. May I just say that B looked stunningly beautiful in her most awesome cleavage-revealing dress. Speaking of beautiful women, Brittney had already arrived and was enjoying a cocktail along with Jag and Shauna. It was so good to see them again! I have to say that I just adore nm (for those who may not be familiar with nm, she is a frequent commenter on B’s blog among others). I almost had her convinced to get up and sing some Bulgarian folk songs for the crowd, but I guess she decided that after Kat Coble’s rendition of “Werewolves of London” nothing could possibly top that!
Slarti rocked the house — it was great to finally hear him sing! I am determined that at the next blogger meet-up, I will be getting Big Orange Michael drunk and making him sing “Rocky Top.” It was pure joy to meet Mary Mancini of Liberadio! Beyonce ain’t got nothin’ on your talent, girlfriend! I would love to chat with you sometime about deeper thoughts. A must-do!
Chris Wage is such a cutie…he was roving around, camera in hand, and my gosh you simply must go see his photos. I have a few pics up on Flickr, too, but geez…Chris just blows my mind. What a talented guy. It was great to finally meet Jon face to face, too. Even in the midst of bedlam, he is the picture of serenity. He is of the cool. Speaking of cool, I am enamored with John Lamb. He has the sweetest spirit about him, and some eyes to just die for.
I was thrilled to see The Professor again. I dedicated a song to her. To say that she rocks is an understatement. I also got to see the famous Plimco from afar. I LOVED her version of “Time After Time.” I am totally kicking myself for not walking up to her and introducing myself. Time got away.
My two fave couples of the evening were the ever awesome Hutchmo and his beautiful (both inside & out) wife, Lynn. They both have blessed me beyond measure. I am so glad they were there to witness their friend make an utter fool out of herself on the Karaoke stage. The other couple is the absolutely beyond hip KateO and Karsten! I am crazy about these two. The thing about Karsten that cracks me up is that he can be sitting and taking a situation in all quiet and everything, and just when you least expect it he will drop a one-liner into the conversation and I end up squealing with laughter. He’s quite the sharp dude. He has diagnosed me with Sexual Tourette’s Syndrome. I go in for treatment later this week. Kate and I will be working up “Don’t Cha” for a later party. Count on it.
Of course, I would be remiss if I didn’t note that one very hot, awesome, and bad woman gets my vote for best dancer/best gatherer of bloggers to sing “Love Shack”/best boobs/best all around mo fo of the evening! Did the woman look amazing or what?
Obviously, I could just go on and on and on about last night. Beyond the food, fun, singing, drinking, and laughing, it was the people coming together to celebrate friendship and one of our own’s success that truly has me once again so thankful to be a part of such a wonderful community of people. Thanks to all of you for the part you play in it. My heart is full.

All of the photos look wonderful. I also looked at Chris Wage’s set. You look great in that b/w shot.
It seems like you had a wonderful time. Hate that I missed it. More than you’ll ever know.
Wow, you described Karsten perfectly. It was that very trait of his that made me crazy about him the very first time we met, lo these many years ago.
We both had so much fun hanging out with you and everyone else. You and I will HAVE to get our Pussycat Dolls on next time, girlfriend.
It was great to meet you. You really are a fantastic singer!
Ginger, I said I would get up and sing in Bulgarian if there was a karaoke backing track. And there wasn’t. And none of my Bulgarian-singing gfs from St. Louis was there. Otherwise I would totally have amazed you all. I think amazed is the word I’m looking for, anyway.
Folks, I was sitting at the bar among the regulars eating some food when Ginger first got up to sing. I want everyone to know that they were all astounded at how good she sounded and asking who she was. I have to say that anyone who would not only take all the trouble of arranging this party for B but also be such a fine part of the entertainment, let alone getting into a technical discussion of tattoos with me and Ivy — such a person is someone I’m glad to have met.
Plus all the guys were cute. Good planning!

Ginger, the reason you have so many cool and wonderful people in your life is because you are so cool and so wonderful yourself. What a great tribute you just paid to all your friends, they are very lucky to have you in their lives as well. I luv ya more and more every day girl and you make me wish I coulda been there with you all.

Dude, I had an awesome time. Thanks for being the driver and my partner in crime. You’re the shizz, Ginge.
I second Ivy. Thanks for being a big part of making sure it all happened.
That looks ridiculously fun and you look ridiculously HOT in that pic. Wow.
