It was the worst of times, it was the best of times…

First of all, my blogging has (in my humble opinion) sucked in the past few weeks. Not having my laptop has really impeded my ability to get alone and quiet (after my child has gone to bed) so I can pull all of my thoughts together. It’s the little things that count sometimes, and the PC I am working with has a keyboard that is so difficult to type on. It feels like I have to exert twice the pressure for the keys to work, and it is affecting my carpal tunnel syndrome. So wah…this concludes the whining portion of this post.

The positive side of my laptop dying is that I have spent more quality time with my daughter and getting things done around the house after work. It is so easy for me to get caught up in reading all of you wonderful writers and creators out there in bloggyland — to the point where I look up and 2 hours has passed before my very eyes.

So I promised myself (and God) that if my laptop can be repaired, I will not blog until after my child has gone to sleep for the night.

I believe that there are “signs and wonders” that guide us through life, gently moving us along the path that is best for us.

Maybe the laptop needed to die for awhile so I could get my priorities back in order.

The good news…no, the GREAT news is that a certain Blonde Mom Blog-ger’s hubby is the owner of Mouse Calls Computer Services (is that a great name, or what?), and they are going to be able to fix it!!! They have been a pleasure to work with, and have gone out of their way to reassure me that they will do all they can to save my beloved laptop.

I got the call today (in less time than they quoted!) with the estimate…and it is going to cost much less than certain Geeks were gonna charge AND it will be much cheaper than buying a new laptop!

Sometimes lessons can be hard…and expensive…but in the long run, it will have all been worth it because when it’s all said and done, I won’t be remembered for if I had a good blog or not…rather for the time that I invested in the priceless treasure of my little girl.

She is worth it all…

  1. You’re a good mom. Congrats on getting the machine fixed.

  2. That’s great news on your laptop! Thanks again for turning to my favorite geek (the best geek in town in my opinion). ;)

You are so right on the priorities. I have been trying to blog late at night or early in the morning (like now). It’s a fun outlet, but it is a huge time sucker. You won’t ever regret spending more time with your little girl. Sounds like you are a wise mom, too.

  3. Finding the good in hardship. Ain’t always easy. I’m proud of you.

  5. Great post. I, too, having been struggling with blogging and priorities lately.

Wise words from a great mom!
