This is definitely meme season…fun stuff, and it’s a great way to get to know each other (and even do a little introspection). Ron tagged me for a fun little Christmas meme!

Merry Christmas Meme…

1. Wrapping or gift bags? I love gift bags with bunches of fluffy, colorful tissue paper spilling out of the top. I love festive!

2. Real or artificial tree? I have never had a real tree, but I’m afraid if I had a real one in the house, my allergies would go haywire…I do love the smell of a real tree, though.

3. When do you put up the tree? The weekend of Thanksgiving.

4. When do you take the tree down? The weekend closest to New Year’s.

5. Do you like eggnog? Yes…always have. For the first time recently, I actually had the fully leaded stuff…yummy!

6. Favorite gift received as a child? Record albums (yes, vinyl)…a new stereo…

7. Do you have a nativity scene? Yes, and I can’t help but laugh when Milkshake tries to bat the Baby Jesus across the room!

8. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? The Singing Trout plaque for our wall…I’m not kidding.

9. Mail or email Christmas cards? Mail, if at all possible.

10. Favorite Christmas Movie? Miracle on 34th Street (the original with Natalie Wood and Maureen O’Hara)

11. When do you start shopping for Christmas? Usually December 24th. I love the rush!

12. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Rum cake, homemade fudge

13. Clear lights or colored on the tree? Lots of both!

14. Favorite Christmas song? Mary Did You Know? as sung by Mark Lowry & the Gaither Vocal Band

15. Travel at Christmas or stay home? Stay home.

16. Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer. “They call them Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen… Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen. And yes I recall… THE most faaaaamous reindeeer of allll… Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.”

17. Angel on the tree top or a star? Definitely an angel.

18. Open the presents Christmas Eve or Christmas Morning? Santa doesn’t come until late on Christmas Eve, so how could we open presents on Christmas Eve?

19. Most annoying thing about this time of year? Bad drivers. (Oh, that’s pretty much every day of the year!)

20. Do you decorate your tree in any specific theme or color? I have clear and dark red lights on the tree, silver garland and beads, and ornaments that I have collected over the years

21. What do you leave for Santa? Cookies & Milk by the fireplace…and we throw a few carrots & some celery out on the lawn for the reindeer

22. Least favorite holiday song? “Christmas Shoes”… Worst. Song. Ever. I loathe it.

23. Favorite ornament? My “Millennium Baby” ornament that was my daughter’s first Christmas ornament.
