******************************************************
- ‘Ol Blue Eyes & Alicia Keys opening number. Pure class, of course.
- Carrie Underwood, “Before He Cheats” – Well, she just looks amazing. Newscoma had it right…her choreography looked like Debbie Allen came out of retirement to write it.
- Winner: Female R&B Performance: Alicia Keys “No One”
- Morris Day & the Time… Just transported into the 80s for a moment.
- Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award going to The Band. How can you just not adore Tom Hanks, I ask ya?
- newscoma : @GingerSnaps I do but the short hair is wigging me out.
- @newscoma – Now that you mention it, his head does have a shape like Guy Smiley, doesn’t it?
- Am I loving this Beatles number? No, no I am not. Well, it is Cirque du Soleil…man, nobody told me that LSD trips were back in style!
- Nothing, but nothing gives me chills like a gospel choir.
- Hallelujah.
- Oh my…that woman and young man singing completely redeemed that set for me. That was amazing.
- Cyndi Lauper & Miley Cyrus…Miley’s got the spray tan on!
- Best New Artist: Amy Winehouse (yawn)
- Jason Bateman trying too hard to be funny.
- Kanye: NARAS has pulled out all of the stops for the production numbers this year. I’m impressed! Happy 50th birthday, Grammy!
- “Last night I saw you in my dreams, so now I can’t wait to go to sleep.” So sad for Kanye…losing his mama.
- John Legend & Fergie – Was beautiful song. I like Fergie a lot…considering I’m an old lady, and she’s all hip, don’cha know.
- WOW!!!!!!!! George Martin & Ringo Starr…the Beatles win a Grammy for Best Compilation Soundtrack Album.
- I love me some British men… Oh, there’s Yoko. Interesting that she didn’t go up there with them to accept the award.

- Sidenote: Soon, Newscoma and I will quit speaking, because we don’t need words…we are in each other’s minds…
- Lifetime Achievement Award going to Burt Bacharach. Thanks, Austin Powers, for hijacking my thoughts anytime I see or hear Burt’s name. lol
- Without comment: Song of the Year to Amy Winehouse.
- r : Fun medical fact – Tina has had 42 more plastic surgeries than Beyonce.
- newscoma : @r How many plastic surgeries has Andy Williams had. Is he alive or frozen and they just brought him out for this evening?
- r: @newscoma gets a 15-yard penalty for unsportsmanlike tweeting for that last comment about Andy Williams possibly being dead. ; )
- Winner of My Grammy Moment: Ann Marie Calhoun – She was awesome. Well-deserved. Her prize is that she gets
to play with the Foo Fighters. - r: Fun math fact – Together, Andy Williams and Tina Turner are 150 years old. (inspired by @jeffpulver)

- Kanye wins Best Rap Album for “Graduation”…saying he appreciates all of thoughts, etc. for his mother. “All I’m gonna do is keep making him proud.” ROCK ON, Kanye for saying, “It would be in good taste for you to stop the (wrap-up the speech) music with that.”
- Got some BeBe and Aretha in the house. Oh my…
- Aretha is so…well, bright yellow in her get-up. um, why do older Gospel artists (the Clark Sisters) feel they must wear so much tafeta? I like what Tri-ni-tee 5:7 is wearing. Tasteful, yet now.
- hutchmo: i’m really looking forward to when A. Winehouse wins album of the year over Kanye…should be one of those magical moments
- Sidenote: ‘Coma has a list of the winners so far here!

- John Mayer is sporting some Lindsey Buckingham hair action.
- Twins? No, Ringo Starr and Dave Stewart presenting Best Country Album…
- Grammy goes to: Vinnie!!!!!!
- OOOOOOOOH…Vinnie with the line of the night!!! “I just had an award given to me by a Beatle. Have you had that happen yet, Kanye?” Zing!!!!
- /Vince immediately makes phone call to up his security detail.
- Joe Montana announces Lifetime Achievement Awards for two classical artists, including Izak Perlman (he’s just now getting one?). Joe Montana sure has changed. No, just kidding…it’s Joe Mantegna.
- Herbie Hancock and Ling-Ling (?) perform Rhapsody in Blue…beautiful.
- awwww, Taylor Swift is adorable. Her career has SO taken off this year! Presents Best Rap Collaboration. Goes to: Rhianna.
- Amy Winehouse – performs live from London because her visa didn’t go through in time to get her here to America. I’m still trying to figure out why she’s all the rage. I’m really trying.
- Ok, that was pretty cool. I’m digging her.
- I love me some Tony Bennett! I love me some Natalie Cole! I love me some Doris Day! She’s another Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award recipient.
- Presenting Record of the Year: Amy Winehouse!!! Whoa, she’s truly touched! That was an intense reaction. awwww, I love it when drugged out rock stars get all mushy about their moms & dads. That’s sweet.

- Fogerty, Jerry Lee, Little Richard… John Fogerty hasn’t aged much…botox? You be the judge. He sounds the same as he did 30 years ago.
- Wow, Jerry Lee is…just wow. Bless his heart.
- Little Richard is Little Richard.
- Will. I. Am. rapping about the Grammys: What IS this tripe? So unnecessary…beginning to wonder when show will end.
- Ok, it’s the end…
- Herbie Hancock wins Album of the Year?!?!?! WTF? Talk about breaking the mold! Ah, he throws in a “Yes We Can”
- Well, that was an anti-climactic ending. It appears they had to get a bunch of commercials to squeeze in, so they had to show them, and then cut back to some sort of Beatles tribute as the credits rolled.
- The production numbers were excellent this year. Overall a decent show. I leave it with the realization that there are so many new artists that I need to get up-to-speed on…
- Peace out!

OH yeah. Dave Grohl is absolutely adorable.
I want to know who determines the Grammys. The Herbie Hancock decision was particularly odd.

Amy Winehouse I think puzzles most of us… And by most of us, I mean me.
