Nice!

The Chicks & TobyThis gave me the warm & fuzzies tonight…

The Dixie Chicks and Toby Keith are teaming up for a good cause, and the person bringing them together is none other than Al Gore.

The Chicks and Keith are set to appear together in a commercial for the Alliance for Climate Protection. It’s a cause championed by the former Vice President, who designed an ad campaign featuring strange bedfellows such as the aforementioned feuding country stars, Democrat Nancy Pelosi with Republican Newt Gingrich, and the Reverend Al Sharpton with the Reverend Pat Robertson — all pairs who’ve traded jabs in the past. Gore’s goal is to prove that climate change is not a partisan issue.

I think this is a wonderful idea. Kudos to Al Gore for being a uniter.

You know what would rock? An Al Gore/Barack Obama ticket.

Yeah…that’s just what our country needs right now. Seriously.

  1. Yeah, that’s a great idea! I for one hoped that Al Gore became involved in the presidential election — guess that’s not going to happen, is it? The world needs Al Gore involved — that’s the feeling amongst my friends and family, here in Brisbane, Australia.
    Cheers!

  2. Al Gore never ran on climate change when he ran for President before–It is a tough political sell and a loser. Let him run again and we will have President McCain since all the millions of voters who have voted for someone else would be real mad.

  3. Personally, I think Al Gore for president and Obama for Vice would allow Obama to mature more politically and be even more ready for a presidential bid later on.

  4. Hey sweetie. I was just watching the Presidential Medal of Honor awarding for Petty Officer Michael A. Monsoor and was just touched. We sometimes have to remember that our lives should not be filled with Paris Hilton and (sorry) American Idol. We have people dying all the time around the world and they are our true heroes and idols, if you will. I knew you would understand my wanting to share this with you…and I didn’t know how else to send it.

Maybe you can put some of his pics up? Just a thought and completely up to you of course.

  5. So the FUTK days are over then?

(I am another who would love to see Gore as president.)

  6. I always thought it would be cool if the Dixie Chicks and Toby Keith did a duet together. I love, love, love the Chicks and Toby’s got some fun songs. I think it’d be a huge success!

  7. I saw the one with the Revs the other day and I have to say, I don’t really like how it was filmed. They looked like puppets. At first I thought the whole thing was a joke. But the scripting was cute and it made a nice point. Still…

  8. I grew up listening to country music in my parents van. We had an 8 track player which was really cool at the time. My favorites were Loretta Lynn, Dolly Pardon and Kenny Rogers.
