I slept right through it…

There was a magnitude 5.2 earthquake up the road from us (near Evansville) at 4:36am (CST) this morning!

It was felt here in our area by many folks. Alas, I slept right through it. Not that I’m complaining, I’m not sure what I’d do if I felt a real earthquake.

What’s really amusing is that just yesterday, Marques & I were tweeting back and forth about how Tennessee would be the ultimate place to live if it were on a coastline. You know…let the land break off right at the Georgia line?

So perhaps a note to Mother Nature is in order today: We were only kidding, I promise!

  1. We felt it… Hubby jumped out of bed like someone stabbed him. He was tore up all morning. We had celing tile in the basement fall out, things in the china cabinet moved and some pictures were hanging all sideways. The girls slept right through it.

  2. Our trusses swayed and re-settled loudly. Having lived through many quakes, including the Sylmar Quake in SoCal, i can tell you this was pretty tame.

  3. Oh wow…I’d love to hear about that sometime!

  4. I felt it. About ten minutes later, I thought there was an aftershock—but it was just my heart pounding and shaking the bed.
