Please indulge me while I brag for a moment…

Giving Yes, I know that bragging gets really, reeeeally old…and so therefore, I apologize in advance for this, but I’ve gotta express how incredibly proud I am of Amanda.

The last 2 soccer games she had before Saturday’s were pretty rough, to say the least. The poor kids just got clobbered. So, on the way to Saturday’s game, Amanda was sick to her stomach nervous, because she wanted to do well and not lose again.

Something clicked with her. I’m not quite sure if it was sheer competitiveness or what, but y’all, she scored FIVE (5) GOALS!!! She was aggressive, stealing the ball from the other team, and just on her game!

So then, afterwards the President of the Soccer Association came up to me & her dad, and said, “I was watching your daughter play out there, and was told this was her first time to ever play…I had a hard time believing that!” He then went on to explain to us that they have a “select” traveling team, and that he would love for her to play in it!

I think the glow of pride on my face could’ve powered the City of Nashville for the next hour during that conversation.

So, we’re going to take a look at the schedule, expense, and most importantly, if Amanda truly wants to do it, and make our decision from there.

Have I mentioned how happy I am to be a “soccer mom”?

    And a little FYI… your “Soccer Mom Glow” could be seen all the way up in the Great Lake State! I wondered why the sun seemed so bright on Saturday!!! ;-)

    There’s nothing wrong with a little bragging. It sounds like Amanda is quite the player.

    (Once, Jack’s first year of playing … he was about 5 … he scored the first two goals of the game. One for his team and one for the other — so Jack was tied one to one.)

    Ginger, I have 2 words for you: College Scholarship! Provided this is something Amanda wants to do, spending a little money now to build her skills can save you big-o buck-os in college tuition!!

    Oh…2 more words for you: Brag on! When Amanda feels your pride in her, it builds her confidence and gives her the ambition to always strive for the best. Don’t apologize for being a good mommy!

    You go girl. Soccer is the all american sport. Hold on, maybe that is football, basketball or baseball. Oh no, it is a sport that anyone can participate since all you do is run up and down the field. Yeah!! America, I love it.
