My kind of comic rag…

…and yet, still, the movie was an epic fail back in the day. Now, it has sort of a campy charm to it.

Good gawd, doesn’t Barry look dreamy???? Rowr!

Thanks, Marc! :)

  1. Which one is Barry?

  2. Oh good grief, Ron…he’s the one on the left with the flowing mane of gorgeous hair, and those long legs and…never mind…

Learn your Bee Gees if you’re gonna hang with me! lololol

  3. Do I really have to learn about men dressed like gay ringmasters?

  4. RON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I hate you.

  5. I’m sorry, you’re right. That was crossing a line. Even gay people don’t dress that flamboyantly. I think those are the outfits you wear if you want to get gaybashed at a drag bar.

  6. Ron: If you want gay, you need to go here: http://www.jestertunes.com/2008/08/04/umm-ok/

  7. *Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

  8. Ahahaha, you found the only thing gayer than that magazine cover.

    Aside: Marvel published *THIS*?! Really?!

  9. You’re using “dreamy” in the sense of “nightmarish,” right?

  10. I hurt. Somebody hold me.

  11. Heh. This whole thread is cracking me up.

  12. Marvel published it to compete with Dynamite. Can I get a Dynamite shout out?

  13. New rule on GingerSnaps: No more piling on the Bee Gees. Now, if a certain Bee Gee would like to pile on me…well..now… ;)

  14. Dynamite!!!! I loved Dynamite!

  15. Dammit! I was going to ask “Which one is Barry.” I’m glad Ron beat me to it … I’d have never come up with “gay ringmasters.”

Not, as it’s been pointed out, that there’s anything wrong with that.

  16. It was also published to horn in on a magazine called “Bananas”. Take that in whatever context you prefer. :-)

And yes, Dynamite DID rock. Time to hit Wikipedia.

  17. Barry was always my fave …indeed all that long hair taunting to be pulled .. wait, I’m thinkin out loud. Now? Have you seen him? Meh, not so tempting.

  18. Look, I used to love the Bee Gees too (BEFORE they went disco–remember that?), but the movie “Sargent Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” was probably the completely lowest low-point in the history of the commercial music industry. I’m surprised that the Bee Gees’ career survived the debacle. Heck, I’m mildly surprised that the Beatles’ music survived the debacle. Robert Stigwood was not so lucky.

  19. Where can I get my hands on one of those pink jackets?! Yikes.

  20. I momentarily got excited by the Pizzazz cover because just above MEAT LOAF I thought I saw “Blogs!”.

    Turns out it’s “Blobs!”.
