Feel Good Friday: Get Down Tonight

Since I’m all about 1979 this week, I’m gonna Get Down Tonight for some Feel Good Friday with K.C. & The Sunshine Band!

Check out the amazing horn section…these guys are incredible!

Cool connections I had to the band:  Back in the very early days of the band, they used to practice in a house across the canal from our house (in Miami), and my mom could hear them practicing everyday.  Then, in later years, K.C.’s mother was a regular customer of my Daddy’s auto repair shop, and he used to work on her van.  Alas, I’ve never met K.C. in the flesh.  It sure would be fun to one day.  You never know…

    One of the guys in the band stopped in and bought some CDs from me when I worked at Turtle’s Records. At least he said he was in the band.

    Roy: That’s so cool! Yep, his name is Harry Wayne Casey, Jr., so if your wife’s postman was Harry and he was in his area, I’ll bet it was him! It’s so fun to recount our brushes with greatness…ha!
